ABOUT the Artist

Born in Ypsilanti, Michigan, Renae Iman Turner grew up in the rural country town between Sumpter and New Boston. She has created artwork since 1995. Inspiration for her artwork comes from her mother, whom passed away in 2013. Her mother was always drawing something, and taught Renae to embrace her creative nature.  As for Photography, her father introduced her to the power of the lens at a young age. Anything he liked, she loved. She never missed the opportunity to capture a moment with her keen eye for rare beauty.

Renae is a self taught artist. She completed coursework  at Michigan State University in Studio Art. Washtenaw Community College in Ann Arbor is where she continues to advance her knowledge in Graphic Design Technology. She lives in Ypsilanti with her inspirational muse, daughter AnnaNaiya Lorena - who has her own page AnnaNaiya's World.

Travel is what she lives for! She has been to Jamaica twice in one year, both solo trip for photo opportunities. Montego Bay, Negril, Ocho Rios- she rented a car and drove the back roads as she is no stranger to adventure.  Niagara Falls frequent visitor as she love to take in the scenic nature. Most recently she took her father to Las Vegas for the first time, and came home with plenty of travel pictures from Red Rock. To see those moments, check out the Travel Photography tab.
